King Lokedithya appointed Ashta Griha Brahmins of the Kota village as permanment members to perform yajna. Such members of the Brahmin community in course of time lost the kings patronage and to earn out a living, migrated from Kota village to distant towns and states and settled down there, taking up different occupations. But they did not forget their ancestral roots and retained their identity as Kota Brahmins. These people inside and outside the state all come together and built up the organization Koota Mahajagathu Saligrama ® and registered it in the year 1953.

Koota Mahajagathu Saligrama ® is the complete name of this organization. The registered head office is at Saligrama, beside Shree Guru Narasimha Temple and the administrative office is at the Cheif Secretaries location. The organization has branches at
